How This Works

For all donations, whatkindofworlddoyouwant.com will distribute approximately 90% of money donated to the selected charities. This is determined primarily by the amount of views per charity and available funds. The 10% expense includes Revver.com's .01/view webhosting cost, California Community Foundation's 1.25% administrative expense and site maintenance. Contributions to the California Community Foundation represent irrevocable gifts subject to the legal and fiduciary control of the foundation's Board of Directors.

For videos which have received 30,000 or more views, whatkindofworlddoyouwant.com may elect to add a click through advertisement at the end of such videos to defray web hosting expenses. As our objective is to donate the most funds possible to our charities, this will eliminate substantial expenses incurred by revver's .01 per view charge on videos with millions of views.

whatkindofworlddoyouwant.com is the property of John Ondrasik and is administrated by John and the Five For Fighting management team at Jim Grant Management.

whatkindofworlddoyouwant.com has no paid staff or personnel.

Augie my brother Keith Wilson has ALS. We have always been so close and I love him so very much. I wake up everday and ask God to give my brother peace... peace (no heartache, no anxiety, no pain.) God Bless all of you that have lost loved ones or are struggling with ALS. May God give you peace everyday. Karen Stone

I truly hope a cure is found soon. My ex-boyfriend passed away 5 years ago, and having gone through it with him, I can say this is a very cruel disease. I commend you in your search for a cure, your courage and determination. I wish the best to you a your family, and to all those out there going though it. God bless.

I lost my beloved husband and best friend on July 17, 2006. He was 56 and had been diagnosed in February 2004. Col and I would have been married almost 35 years. I wish you every success in finding a cure for ALS. I am a member of Ozpals and MNDA of Qld. Australia. Jan

This was very good. Two others that are very good: http://www.whatkindofworlddoyouwant.com/videos/view/id/384471 and 443197. There are a world of challenges out there, and the job belongs to all of us to make those challenges bearable for one another.

Augie, Mom had ALS. We lost her in 2004. I still cannot believe it. When I am running, I run harder and stronger in honor of you and all those who are dealing with ALS. Thank you for what you are doing to bring awareness. Your tears and joy are joined by all of us in the ALS community. My sisters and I send our love to you and your family. http://www.rupertusfoundation.org

Thank you Augie for all you are doing. I was diagnosed in March 07. There is power in prayer so let's all pray without ceasing and agree that our cure will come now. Nothing is impossible for God.

One of our favorite old movies is the one about Lou Gehrig, "Pride of the Yankees". "His talent made him a legend. His courage made him a hero." Augie, you two seem to have been made from the same mold! Your energy & attitude, like Lou's, will never be forgotten. I hope they do name the cure for ALS after you.

Augie and Lynne, I love both of you. Thank you so much for generously giving this precious time to increase awareness about ALS. My dad, Ron, got to chat with you in this past January's online chat...he enjoyed that so much, and I can't even imagine how proud he would tell you he is of both of you right now. You gave him so much hope. Like you said, IT IS A BEAUTIFUL THING TO TURN DESPAIR INTO HOPE, AND HOPE INTO JOY. I love you both. God bless you. Thank you so much. Thank you. You are my heroes.

My niece passed this information to me, and has already mentioned that we lost my Dad and 2 of my sisters to Familial ALS. I am inspired by your strength and filled with hope that a cure is out there and will be found. God loves you, and so do we!!

Augie, words can never describe the pain in my heart when I lost my daddy Arnold M Hodes to ALS on May 5, 2006. I promised my dad I would fight the fight for a cure for ALS until the time I meet my dad in heaven. You are an inspiration to all and I am so proud of you and I know my daddy smiles at you from the heavens. I know that the cure for ALS is within our reach and we will find that cure. May God bless you and your beautiful wife and although I lost my daddy to ALS who was my hero, I see God bestowed another hero in my heart...Augie Nieto. With much love and a deep appreciation for opening your heart to all, Debbie Hodes-Wewer In loving memory of Arnold M Hodes born April 24, 1930 and passed to the next life on May 5, 2006. He fought the fight and is missed beyond words...

That is such a moving video. I have sent it to everyone I know and have asked them to send it to everyone they know. I believe that we will find a cure. I met Augie not too long ago at a YPO conference and have NEVER been so moved in my life. We really take our lives for granted. I've always wanted to lead a group in an expedition and now I have the courage to try. Ive been there once but was in a group led by a man who climbed it twice. It doesn't mean I am not afraid but after Augie's talk and even just looking into his passionate and very powerful eyes... It gives me the courage to try. Everest base camp...leading a group?....yikes! But I am going to try. Because trekking is my passion and one of the strongest lessons I've learnt from Augie is to follow your dreams, pursue your passions and live your life. I am behind you Augie, if you need me you know my contact information. You have moved me from thinking "but I'm just a teenager girl...to...I can do it." Lots of Love, Kate Read

Augie, having just come across this site, I want to take this opportunity to wish you all the best of luck in your fundraising efforts. My father passed away in '99 from MND, and having been there every day with him, I have been fundraising ever since to find a cure. Very soon Augie people like you and my father Peter will have a cure for MND or as you know it it America ALS. May God be good to you and your family for your courage. John Hurson, Ireland. P.S. I am a former resident of Orange County having lived in Costa Mesa for 5 years. 3 of those years in the Harp Inn...........

You just came and visited my school up in Massachussetes. I can't even begin to tell you affected us. The only other time I've seen us that quiet was when Travis Roy came to talk to us. You're such an amazing person with a beautiful soul. How does a person who has been through so much be so generous? So caring? I talked to you afterword and was moved to tears. I'll be donating. Keep hoping, Augie. Keep going.

Thank you so much for fighting. Don't give up! My dad passed away from ALS in 2000. I just recently had a baby and I am so sad that she will not know her grandfather. Please keep fighting and one day all of the tears of sadness will be turned into tears of joy when ALS is wiped out!

Dear Augie, You recently visited my school in Berkshire Massachusetts. I unfortunately was not able to make it to anywhere where I could talk to you and tell you how much your speech affected me. I am truly sorry for you and everyone else in the world that has ALS. I think that it is magnificent that instead of just accepting your burden, you have decided to fight against ALS and save lives. Even with your limitations in speech and moment, you are the strongest person I know. Sincerely, Michael Beucler
