I wonder what tomorrow's classrooms will be like? Let's be proactive with diagnosis and intervention so that teachers are not expected to overcome this as well.

What an inspiring and Awesome video! I was truly touched and everyone needs to fight so that these children have insurance coverage. Your daughter is adorable and I applaud you for trying to make a difference :)

My 2 year old has moderate/severe autism, we are one of these families that can't wait to have him speak something. We are working with an early intervention autism school and he starts in January. God Bless these Babies!

Awesome video, the little girl is adorable. I have worked with several Autistic children in the last three years and I have to say it has been the most memoriable years in working with children. Autistic children are so neat they each have their own little perks. Every day is a challange but is so rewarding. I want to tell all the parents out there with autistic children to never deny it. Be happy and go through life with no regrets. These children are just like any other children and they deserve a normal life just like everyone else!

Wow. This makes me so sad for families who are dealing with this, including my own cousin and her daughter. We are fortunate to live in Iowa in an area where our schools take referrals from doctors when any milestone isn't met and screen for autism. My son was screened at 18 months, and while it was too early for an autism diagnosis, he had speech therapy weekly until he "caught up" to where he should have been...and experts were able to rule out autism as a diagnosis. And no need to worry about insurance...this was a FREE service provided by our school system.

This is a reason that John Edwards needs to get into the White House. He has a plan and will make Congress go without health insurance until they get all Americans covered. He isn't just talking out his mouth with his hand taking contributions from the Insurance Groups. This breaks my heart, no one should worry about if their child can get help. No one should worry if they can get care. NO ONE!

I was so very touched by this video. After almost three years of trying to have a baby and finally conceiving via invitro-fertilization, I am nearing the end of my first trimester. Whereas I am thrilled to death, I am also filled with new concerns. Autism being one of them. I pray we can get closer to truly helping these children lead normal lives. I also had no idea many insurance companies did not cover therapies. This should be mandatory. This should be a priority.

I have 2 autistic spectrum children, and as a teacher, I work with some. It is so important for parents to not be in denial or feel ashamed if their child shows signs of autism or has it. There is much that can be done and it takes a lot of work and understanding of the condition to persevere the slow progress---but there will be progress. Thank you for showing this video, and thank you FIVE FOR FIGHTING for your contribution to the Autism organization.

I just want to say that I can feel for thos families out there who are struggling with this problem. Although I am not a mother myself I am an educator. Last year I worked with a 2 year old boy who was severly autistic but his mother did not want to believe it. She had him tested and the so called "tester" wrote it off as that his actions were part of his age. Unfortunately, he is now worse and talks even less. It is so sad to see children pushed to the side as this little boy was. As well as Claudia. I think it is sad to see insurance agencies deny coverage to these families. I think a mandate needs to be made. I know that I am only one person but I do hope that one day, as an educator, I will be able to make a difference in these young children's lives. WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

My Great Grandson has this, these children need help, the need the chance to lead normal, to be like other children, be able to communicate with others, and enjoy life, I know they are all in my prayers
