How This Works

For all donations, whatkindofworlddoyouwant.com will distribute approximately 90% of money donated to the selected charities. This is determined primarily by the amount of views per charity and available funds. The 10% expense includes Revver.com's .01/view webhosting cost, California Community Foundation's 1.25% administrative expense and site maintenance. Contributions to the California Community Foundation represent irrevocable gifts subject to the legal and fiduciary control of the foundation's Board of Directors.

For videos which have received 30,000 or more views, whatkindofworlddoyouwant.com may elect to add a click through advertisement at the end of such videos to defray web hosting expenses. As our objective is to donate the most funds possible to our charities, this will eliminate substantial expenses incurred by revver's .01 per view charge on videos with millions of views.

Amy, though you struggle daily I am sure, your love and happiness shine through. What kind of world would we live in if we didn't have people like you to model ourselves after. You demonstrate courage, perservierence, and most of all unconditional love. That is the the kind of world I want to live in. And your boys are truly very lucky to have you.

Dear Amy, I have twin boys, five years old, both on the spectrum. I feel your heart as if it were my own. Nobody understands 'how I do it' either. Of course, it makes sense to me since I don't know any other way. I love my kids but I am afraid to leave them with anyone who is not a special educator who can truly understand them. I too tire of the looks of disapproval and pity from others when the boys are struggling but I stopped actually caring what other pople thought of us long ago. I am running a marathon here and no marathon runner cares how she looks to the spectators, all that matters is finishing the race! Watching your video I realized how similar we are. Trips to the coast, the pumpkin patch, waterplay in the backyard... your pictures could be our pictures. It all looks so wonderful but I know the work involved in getting your children to tolerate, accept and finally enjoy those experiences. We have a 24 hour/7 day a week job to do and like any job, some days it's a trial by fire and other days it's a pleasure. Thank you for sharing what a pleasure it can be with your photos, and thank you for sharing your wishes with the rest of us in your words. Peace and strength to you all!

My five year-old son has autism, and I have seen many of these videos. This one is by far the most powerful and moving. Show it to many people! Thanks!!!

Dear Amy, your video is so moving. I only wish that the whole world could see it. You are not alone in your quest. Kim in CA. What kind of world do you want? I want what you want too.

My daughter, Amy, has two sons on the autism spectrum. Your wishes are ours. With enough voices raised for autism, we will be able to impliment the needed changes we dream of. Thank you for sharing this video.

This hit home with me, as well. Sending love your way, and praying God will give us an easier road getting our babies coverage for their much-needed therapies.

God bless you all! People think my cousin has autism and it is so hard. I hope we find a cure so you're boys and my cousin (who might have autism) can do everyday things and not have it be a challenge! Once again God Bless you and you're boys!

Amy, I can see you have so much joy in your life. I, too, wish we had a world where people helped you with your children and didn't feel badly for you. Reality shouldn't hurt. You are not alone, and I am happy to let you know I am joyous each day with my beautiful daughter!

My son is an aspie, so I only have a mild taste of what you work through daily. You have my admiration and prayers.

Amy, you hit home with me also. Everyday I pray to God that I don't get sick because I don't know who will make sure my kids get all their needs met. I'm tired of fighting for services they need and I have a long road ahead. It is always a challenge to leave the house with the kids. Everyday is a challenge to get through. We all get throught the day. Helene in NY.

Amy - Your video is very touching. Keep your dreams high for those precious boys. I've spent years teaching students on the autism spectrum and have seen kids meet many of the milestones you've mentioned. Anything is possible with these kids!!! Autism will always be a part of their lives but that doesn't mean it has to control theirs or yours.
