How This Works

For all donations, whatkindofworlddoyouwant.com will distribute approximately 90% of money donated to the selected charities. This is determined primarily by the amount of views per charity and available funds. The 10% expense includes Revver.com's .01/view webhosting cost, California Community Foundation's 1.25% administrative expense and site maintenance. Contributions to the California Community Foundation represent irrevocable gifts subject to the legal and fiduciary control of the foundation's Board of Directors.

For videos which have received 30,000 or more views, whatkindofworlddoyouwant.com may elect to add a click through advertisement at the end of such videos to defray web hosting expenses. As our objective is to donate the most funds possible to our charities, this will eliminate substantial expenses incurred by revver's .01 per view charge on videos with millions of views.

Thank you for the video, it moved me. My grandchildren, children and parents all live in Liverpool and my grandchildren have attended Liverpool schools their entire lives. I love our district, teachers and principals. I graduated from Liverpool High School in 1970 and I love it here. Please vote yes, we need to continue the pride. Thank you again.

Are you kidding me. My kids go to Liverpool and I did not know it was this bad. How can the teachers teach and the kids learn in buildings like this? As far as the stadium is concerned, The turf was put down 10 years ago, the average lifespan is about 12-15. Yes it is failing, so do we just vote no because it is tied to the whole referendum. Of course not, then people will be complaining that kids have no after school activities to do. Get out there and vote yes!

I too grew up in Liverpool and have a deep respect for our village and its schools. We have some of the best school educators in the Nation. That is why I made sure that my children would come here for their education, and spent my entire retirement investment bringing my family here to secure their future. I am an advocate for all children and animals in need, regardless of the reason or location. I would be prejudice indeed if I ignored the need of the children in my hometown. Such a little donation request is no reason to ignore the needs for our children here, and we are all free to invest our money to to the other charities of our choice. The point is, would you consider this donation instead of eating out at a restaurant for one evening? Is that too much to ask? Consider that thought every time you think of an unnecessary luxury, and remember not to forget the others in need!

$38 a year! Isn't that the cost of 8 packs of cigarettes?????? Please vote yes, it is for the future of so many kids. Academics, athletics, fine arts. So many will benefit. For just $38 a year!

i know this is the United States and not South America, but look where we are going, our economy is declining, and we are overspending money on things that are not really important, and i'm not saying these schools are not important, because i think education is one of the best gifts we all have, and that we can give to our children. but, yes, i'm very real, and i'm going to vote, and hopefully for the right president. but priorities are priorities, and i think that poberty, hunger, illness are priority either here, or in any other place in this planet.

In resposne to Veronica's post... FYI this is the UNITED STATES of AMERICA not SOUTH AMERICA, we stive for the best in this country. Yea, it could be worse as it is in other countries, but that is why the U.S. is as great as it is. So are you saying no do not put money in our schools because our students have chairs to sit on and roofs over their heads? Or are you saying lets wait until our schools are as fallen apart and beat up as those in South America to fix them? Get real go vote

It is so important to invest in the future, in our children. We have high aspectations of what the school should provide for our children. The Liverpool community needs to provide the school district with the same level of support and confidence. Nice video presentation, it really it home for me.

Great video of the problems in our schools. My fear is that the repair of the schools will be attached to a much larger amount of money for the stadium. The turf and the track were put in by coke or pepsi and haven't lasted like they were expected to or should have and now we're stuck picking up the tab to replace them. Our schools have always been in sorry shape compared to the stadium which was the showpiece.

Dee, what a wonderful job you did of depicted what our children and teachers here in liverpool deal with every day. I was a member of a safety committee for the Liverpool District and toured Liverpool Middle & Elementary at least 10 years ago, and they were in terrible shape then, and over crowded. I will gladly forward this to friends and family and pray that people get out and vote to get these schools back in shape FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR CHILDREN. I know we can get this done.

Dee, thanks for putting together a nice emotionally moving view of the schools and why we need this referendum. Having toured the schools and the athletic field I can say that these pictures are only a small example of the wear and tear these facilities have seen over their lifetime. The phones in the elementary school are right out of Petticoat Junction. The band and chorus rooms are unbelievably small in the middle school. The science rooms in the middle school are inadequate and neither library would be acceptable today. My family grew up in Liverpool and I am raising a family in Liverpool and I have a deep pride in the Liverpool Community. As a new board member I believe it is my duty to get these facilities back to a condition we can take pride in. To be able educate the next generation of my family and every other community member's family to the high level people in Liverpool expect. I'm not an outwardly sentimental nor emotional guy, but this did move me and I expect it will move many people who have the same pride in our community that I have. Thanks again, Dee. Together we'll get this done.

Hi Everyone! Thank you so much for the kind comments. The schools are in a suburb of Syracuse NY. I thought John's song really spoke to what we hope for all of our children. So many times these budget discussions get caught up numbers and money issues. I hoped to remind everyone that what we were are really talking about is the education of future leaders of this country. Also I wanted to let you know that the reason I chose Autism Speaks to receive the funding from the video is because I'm the mom of a child with autism. He is 12 years old and goes to school at one of Liverpool's Middle schools. He is included when he can be and is taught outside the 7th grade curriculum when he needs more intervention. Our school really has put the "I" in IEP. :) Thanks again for the beautiful and kind words. It means so much to me! Dee

i understand that these conditions must be difficult for the students teachers and parents of this schools, but i've seen worst, go to south america and see how kids ive there, they don't even have a chair to seat on or a roof over them, they've never seen a gym or a play ground, all they have is muddy roads and puddles around them. don't think i am mean for my comments, because i'm a mom and i wouldnd't be happy if my child had to go to school in those conditions, but in our world there are other problems that are more critical. hunger, sickness, autism which is in my family. and what about homeless people on the streets. so think about it.

What state is this in? What a fabulous idea to show people that our children and our teachers are DESPERATELY in need of SAFE, SOUND and HEALTHY physical environments in which to learn and teach.
