Lucas' Walk

Description: The year Lucas was diagnosed was the first year of the NAAR/Autism Speaks walk in our city. In many ways I feel that this charity has been walking this journey with us. Each year family and friends get up on an early October morning and walk for my son. This video is dedicated to them, and of course him.

PLEASE PLEASE READ THIS!!! YOur son reminds me of my own and he is recovering!!!! He had colic and acid reflux, too. I had NO idea that was a sign of milk intollerance. My son was also sick alot during his first couple of years. I also had no idea that the antibiotics and oral steroids (for croup/RSV) he was on created a yeast overgrowth in his GI tract. Also, he had several vaccines while on antibiotics - big NO NO!! This all created the perfect storm for autism to develop. Please look into this. It is all over the internet. My son is now doing amazing and recovering from autism with the gluten and casein free diet and supplements. He had regressive autism that I believe started after a flu shot. Then he got sick and was on antibiotics and oral steroids. He then disappeared into his own world. Symptoms Zack had were that he wouldn't answer to his name (we thought he was going deaf) and would go into "fogs" toe-walking and spinning, loss of eye contact, holding his ears, hair cuts became a nightmere, etc. I tried the GFCF diet and I saw a tiny bit of eye contact come back, so we knew we were onto something. We had his stool and urine tested (www.greatplainslaboratory.com) and was found to have yeast overgrowth (from antibiotics and oral steroids for croup/RSV). Zack was also found to have lead poisoning (possibly from recalled toys from China) and mercury poisoning possibly from flu shots. His GI system was a mess and we didn't even know it (well, acid reflux was a sign). This was affecting his absorbtion of minerals and vitamins and affecting his brain. They are helping other parents do the GFCF diet correctly and treat yeast, bacteria, heavy metals, etc. Once I treated his yeast, he stopped going into "fogs" and was talking more and more. God be with you and your Lucas. My son is going to be 4 years old. He is on the Autistic Spectrum and has Sensory Integration problems. He doesn't talk. I am trying therapy, biofeedback and looking into the Pfeiffer treatment Center for a more biochemical approach the the disorder. I pray there is a breakthru in medicine soon.
